  • Where does Kratom come from?
Kratom is a medicinal plant, indigenous to Southeastern Asia, such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Its scientific name is Mitrogyna Speciosa and it comes from the coffee family. Kratom has been used for over 3000 years, by laborers, as a psychoactive medicine, to increase motivation, energy, and focus. It is widely known for its opioid like effects and was banned in Thailand in 1943, due to its disruption of the opium trade. Kratom continues to help many people aroung the world relieve pain and stress.
  • How do people use Kratom?
Kratom is used by many people around the world for a huge variety of reasons, such as: 1. Pain relief 2. Withdrawals from opiates 3. Inflamation 4. Digestion 5. Relaxation 6. Focus 7. Mood Enhancement 8. Sleep aid
  • Is Kratom safe?
Although Kratom is not supported by the FDA or Big Pharma, its positive effects are documented by thousands of consumers. Kratom comes from the coffee family and its consumers report experiencing similar addictive effects, with minimal withdrawals (such as possible headaches, restless leg, and trouble sleeping) if used for long and sustained periods of time. Consumers report possible side effects such as dizziness, eye wobbles, and nausea. (It is very important to avoid dehydration when taking Kratom to deter these effects.) Consumers of Kratom report it is best used responsibly and for short durations. If treating chronic pain, consumers often take breaks to avoid building a tolerance. Kratom has a long and reassuring history, for over 3,000 years. • Why are your Kratom products labeled "not for human consumption"?"
At this time, the FDA has not approved Kratom as a dietary supplement, although many Kratom activists are working hard to make this a reality. Unfortunately, the FDA and Big Pharma are heavily opposed to Kratom because of its threat to the financial interests of the pharmaceutical industy. We hope to one day regulate Kratom as a dietary supplement, so the public will have a consistent expectation of potency, safety, and purity. Although we must still label our product with "not for human consumption", we are committed to testing our Kratom for bacteria, heavy metals, and potency, with or without those requirements.
  • What is the difference between the types of strains?
Each strain of Kratom has a slightly different effect on the body. Every strain is differentiated by where it was grown and the color of its "veins". There are four major colors of Kratom - white, green, gold, and red. Whites - Of all the strains, white vein Kratom is known for its energizing and focusing effects. White Vein Kratom appears to have the most cognitive enhancing qualitites and many people use this strain in place of a morning cup of coffee. Greens - The green veins have the most moderate effects of all the strains. These tend to be a popular choice for those who take Kratom daily. Golds - Gold strains are unique because they contain alkaloids from both the green and red strains and are fermented. Many use gold strains for their relaxing and soothing effects, combined with their ability to create mental focus. This is also a popular strain for those experiencing chronic pain. The golds are a great middle of the road and well balanced option.
  • What is the appropriate dosage?
Finding the magical amount of Kratom for each individual can be difficult. Because Kratom has not been approved as a dietary supplement, potency is very inconsistent between brands. Vendors are legally allowed to sell a wide range of potency and purity in their kratom products. This is why we are so passionate about selling the most rigorously tested Kratom available on the market. Kratom consumers find that once they find a Kratom brand they trust, they begin with about 1-2 teaspoons and increase from there, until they reach the desired effect. Each person responds differently to each strain, just as everyone responds differently to a variety of medications. No one knows your body quite like you do.
  • How is Kratom consumed?
Everyone chooses whatever method works best for them. There are a variety of options: Tea - When making tea with Kratom, it is important to allow the powder or crushed leaf to steep for a minimum of 30 minutes, to allow the desired alkaloids to release into the water. As a general rule, many use 2-3 grams of Kratom to 2-3 cups of water. After boiling and steeping, strain the tea with a french press or find strainer. The tea can be consumed hot or chilled, and can be mixed with juice or a sweetener. Mixing with food - Kratom can be added to shakes, ice cream, applesauce, or smoothies. It has a very strong and bitter taste, so beware before mixing! Toss and Wash - this is the fastest approach to taking Kratom and arguably the most unpleasant. The "toss and wash" method requires a person to place a spoonful of dry kratom directly in their mouth and to wash it down with water or juice. Not only is this method unpleasant, it can also contribute to dehydration due to the consumption of the dehydrated powder. Cold brew - Many people will add a spoonful of Kratom to a small cup of acidic juice, both to mask the flavor and to support their body's absorption of the Kratom. Capsules or Tablets - Those who cannot stand the taste of Kratom to any degree often resort to taking capsules or tablets. We particularly pride ourselves in the tablets we offer, because they are 100% free of any additives or binders.
  • Is Kratom Addictive?
We are aware of the opioid epidemic, plaguing our country. Many innocent patients experiencing an acute injury or illness wind up dependent on opioids, with devastating effects. Pain killer addictions destroy individuals, families, careers, physical health, and psychological health. It is very common for an individual to become addicted to heroin, as their pain killer addiction worsens and becomes harder to access. An estimated 130 people die every day in the US due to opioid related causes. Although the FDA attempts to condemn Kratom as a harmful and addictive substance, the truth is there is NO evidence of deaths due to Kratom. (See The American Kratom Association) Unfortunately, there are many substance abusers who do take Kratom in addition to other substances they are using recreationally and there are many who have succumbed to their complicated substance addictions. Those who are invested in demonizing Kratom are quick to attribute substance related deaths to Kratom, even though many other known dangerous substances and factors are present. Many individuals who have deeply struggled with opioid addiction have successfully used Kratom to get through the severe withdrawals they experience getting off of opioids. Kratom has been used successfully by many to wean off of opioids and entirely treat their chronic pain or addictions long term. One of the incredible benefits of Kratom is its ability to appease opioid cravings without the the devastating harm of opioids/opiates. There is a wide range of information available about addiction and Kratom's risk factors and benefits. For many personal experiences and information, visit the American Kratom Association and Kratom Science. As with any substance or potent healing remedy, Kratom should be respected and used responsibly. Those that receive the maximum benefit from Kratom use it mindfully and with intention. Any powerful substance can be used harmfully and recklessly, whether it be presciption medications, readily available recreational substances such as alcohol, or herbal remedies. Every individual is accountable to responsibly manage their health and wellness choices.
